The Granary

The Granary

Sleeps: 4

Bedrooms: 2

Bathrooms: 1

Accessibility: No

This beautiful converted mill sleeps four people in one luxurious super-king double bedroom and one twin bedroom (10% discount for 2 person occupancy – sharing 1 bedroom). It’s really an apartment with a private staircase leading to the accommodation on the first floor above a Victorian waterwheel. The location of The Granary is perfect for visiting our local market town of Melrose, just a stone’s throw away or for exploring the beautiful Scottish Borders region. It’s also ideal for a day trip to Edinburgh which is just under an hour away on the scenic Borders Railway.

There’s an open-plan kitchen / dining / sitting room with wonderful garden views – a great place for watching the huge array of birds (and squirrels!) visiting the bird-feeders.

There’s also a cosy snug with a comfy armchair, a perfect place to snuggle up with your favourite book. The shared bathroom has a large bath tub and over-bath shower. The luxurious master bedroom features a huge super-king size Simba bed and black out blinds for the best night’s sleep. There’s also black-out blinds in the twin bedroom so if you bring the children they’ll sleep well too!

The cottage is kept cosy year round by our eco-friendly biomass heating system. Top quality bedding (luxury microfibre, no feathers), bed linen, extra large fluffy bath towels, hand towels and bath matts are provided plus tea towels and oven gloves in the fully equipped kitchen.

Enjoy the beautiful open gardens surrounding The Granary with stunning views of the Eildon Hills and the Tweed Valley and make use of our Webber charcoal BBQs and garden furniture. Smoking and vaping is allowed outside only.

The centre of Melrose (Sunday Times 2018 winner of Best Place to Live in Scotland) is around 10-15 minutes walk away (0.5 miles) or 2 minutes in the car.

Whilst we do allow well behaved, small, clean dogs to stay in The Granary it’s not ideal for larger long haired breeds as most of it is carpeted – not great for big wet dogs on rainy days! If you want to bring your small, clean dog please make sure you bring extra towels etc to keep their feet clean.
