There is a wealth of great rugby clubs in The Borders and the annual 7s series (Kings of the Sevens) offers 10 entertaining tournaments through April and May each year. The most famous of these is the Melrose 7s held in April where the seven-a-side game was invented in 1883.The Melrose rugby sevens attracts teams from around the world who come to compete with local clubs to win the coveted trophy.
